Marketing Beefalo - Identify & Define Your Product
You need to define your product (Beefalo meat) in simple yet attractive terms in order to create interest from the public. It’s not enough to tell them that it tastes good and is good for you. You need to back up your claims with evidence.
There have been several studies done over the years that highlight the great nutritional qualities of Beefalo – low fat, low cholesterol, high in protein, and if grass-fed, higher in Omega-3 fatty acids than grain-fed animals. Much of this information is listed somewhere on the Internet. Print it out and make it available to anyone who inquires about Beefalo meat.
Once you put that information in their hands, don’t stop there. Go over the study data with them and point out just how much lower in fat and cholesterol the meat is. Show them that the protein content of Beefalo is greater than that of beef, and explain that because of this fact, the consumer can eat a smaller portion of meat and still feel fully satisfied for a longer period of time. Translate that fact into cost savings.
